How do I generate a Claim?

Here are the steps to generate a claim.

To initiate the process, access the patient's profile and choose the "Billing" tab. From the available services, select the relevant box or boxes on the left side to proceed with claim creation. Once you have made your selection, you will find the "Actions" drop-down menu. Within this menu, opt for "Claim(s)" to proceed.

After selecting "Claim(s)", the system will prompt us to choose the Primary Insurance Payer and a Business Entity, if applicable. Once all the necessary selections have been made, click on the "Create Claim(s)" button.

After generating the claim for the patient, the next step is to navigate to the "Insurance" tab and select "Claims". Here, you will find a list of claims and their respective statuses, with the most recent one displayed at the top. To proceed, select the checkbox next to the newly generated claim and access the "Actions" drop-down menu. If you are submitting the form physically, you can print it and then mark it as submitted. Alternatively, if you have a clearinghouse connected to Chiro Cat, you can choose to submit the claim(s) electronically.

If you click on the claim while it is unsubmitted, it will direct you to the CMS 1500 (HCFA) form, where you can review or make edits to the information. If you select a form with any other status, it will redirect you to a different screen where you can bill secondary insurance. This screen also provides the option to distribute a payment using the "Payment received" button. Additionally, you can view other information about the claims and have the ability to print or edit the HCFA form.

All boxes on the HCFA form will be populated from the information in the case type and chart notes. Take note that next to each field it will display which box it populates.

Payer Info needs to be set from the "Edit Payer Info" on the HCFA

The "Payer ID" needs to be filled into the field. If you are unsure of the ID you can search Infinedi to find it with the "Find Infinedi Payer ID" tool.

The NPI (box 32) will pull from the NPI the provider has entered in their profile tab. The EIN (box 25) will pull from what was added to your account upon signing up.
