What do I do with a Duplicate Patient Record?

Duplicate patients and how they get created.

A Patient Profile can accidentally get duplicated in Chiro Cat during the Appointment check-in or Online Scheduling processes. This is generally because the original profile created for them is:

  • Missing or incorrect birthday
  • The Patient's name was entered incorrectly by office staff
  • The Patient entered their "Preferred Name" instead of their full name
  • The Patient did not type in their name or birthday correctly

Note: Any of the above scenarios will warn the patient their record could not be found and asks them if they would like to create one, thus we have a duplicate


How to Merge

  1. Find the Patient profile you want to merge (this is the profile that will get deleted, so make sure you select the correct profile to initiate the merge)
  2. Click Profile --> Settings and scroll to where you see "Merge Contact Records"
  3. Search and select the Patient you want to merge into and "Submit"
