Here is a look at the new SOAP notes update.
To begin, let's explore the SOAP notes settings that differ between users. These settings can be accessed in the personal settings section, which can be found by clicking on your user portrait in the top right corner of the screen or by navigating to the office settings and selecting "Account" and then "Personal Settings".
Here you can set your preferences based by user for filling out the SOAP notes.
Additionally you can now easily import macros from Chiro Touch if the office had previously used them. You can find this in settings, "Charting", Templates".
Now, let's explore the latest update in SOAP Notes. Upon scrolling down in the chart, you will notice that your banner remains visible. New SOAPT buttons are now available, allowing you to easily enter or edit any part of the SOAP notes by selecting the associated letter. The "T" circle icon will only show up if you have therapy enabled for your SOAP notes.
Under the "Plan" tab we have added "Treatment Plans". Upon selecting the "+New Treatment Plan" button you will see new options to add a treatment plan. The biggest addition on treatment plans is that it stores those treatment plans not just in the text of the note (that is optional) but will actually track them. So future notes created will attach that treatment plan and move through the phases.
Here you can add a description of the plan, add phases and generate text to the chart. Generating text will simply add the information you have entered into the fields
The "Number of Appointments" is how many per Day/Week etc. In this case we have selected 2 appointments per week.
The "Duration" field is the time the plan will last or run for in the length of Day/Week/Month etc. In this case we have chosen 4 months.
So after all of those fields have been set, we can generate a text to the note and it will show as seen below.
Furthermore, a shortcut has been included for customizing your Palpation Settings located at the bottom of the page.
Clicking on "Palpation Settings" will take you to the following screen where you can select your icons you wish to use and label them.
Icons have been added next to the text field for quick clearing of the text box, the ability to compare current notes with previous notes, and displaying the pain diagram. An example of the "Compare Notes" feature is shown here.
The ability to format notes, underline, bolden, and more have also been added at the top of the text box.
When creating a new chart for a new patient you will be prompted you "Select a Category" from the drop-down.
Upon selection you will be presented with a new drop-down that asks you to "Select Category" again with new options.
Once a category has been selected you will be presented with columns of template buttons. The number of columns can be set in your personal settings.
You can edit your tab names, category, and even color in the settings. If you navigate to your settings, locate "Charting" and select "Templates". Here you will find the folder directory. Your template folders are presented with a "Plus (+)" or "Minus (-)", displaying sub-folders and templates. The templates will be displayed with blue page icons.
By double-clicking a folder you will be presented with the "Edit Category" window. This will display the title of the folder, any parent folder(s), sub-folder(s), and template(s). From this screen you may also create a new template, new sub category, and edit templates. Under templates settings, you can now set your default template folder for each of the SOAPT tabs so that it automatically selects that template folder for you when you go to that tab. In addition you can take it a step further in the appointment types settings, you can set the default template folder for each appointment type as you might want that different for some appointment types.
When editing a template you have the options of giving the template a button color, adding new questions, importing questions, and entering custom questions.
Selecting a template button color will appear as shown below.
In the "Edit Template" screen you can import questions, edit questions, and add new questions.
